Research and Professional Development
Application Form
 
Purpose

To build a vigorous and diverse women’s and gender studies research community at Iowa State University, and to enhance the dissemination of WGS scholarship locally, nationally, and internationally.
  
Eligibility

To apply for a mini-grant, you must be a tenure or tenure-track Women’s and Gender Studies Program faculty affiliate for a minimum of one year. Affiliate status is designated by the receipt of an official letter of acceptance from the WGS Program.









Funding Types
  
Research Funding

If you are applying for funds to do research, please include the following: 
  1. A one-page project description, including an explanation of why the project is needed, whom it will serve, what the completed project will accomplish, and how your work is tied to women’s and gender studies scholarship and research
  2. Your need for funds
  3. Any other sources of funding you have or have applied for
  4. Estimated budget

Conference Funding
 
If you are applying for funds to present at a conference, please include the following:
  1. A description (name of organization and dates) of the conference
  2. An abstract of your conference presentation
  3. An explanation of how your work is tied to women’s and gender studies scholarship
  4. Proof of acceptance of your presentation
  5. An explanation of your need for funds
  6. Any other sources of funding you have available to you, or for while you have applied
  7. Estimated budget

Professional Development Funding

If you are applying for funds to support professional development, please include the following:
  1. A one-page description of the professional development opportunity (name of organization and dates)
  2. Proof of your acceptance into the program
  3. Any other sources of funding you have available to you or for which you have applied
  4. Estimated budget

All funding requests must be accompanied by a letter of support from your department chair or chair equivalent.
